Some of the better-known and nationally recognized associations for phlebotomists are, the American Society for Clinical Pathology, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. This is one of the oldest associations, having been established in 1922. Another is the National Phlebotomy Association, located in Landover Maryland. This association has certified well over 14,000 phlebotomists in America.
