What to Do About Varicose Vein Pain

Varicose veins are basically veins that are swollen and have a hard time to pass the blood through them. This can be very painful! Some ways to ease your varicose vein pain is by avoiding standing for too long, or sitting for long periods of time while crossing your legs. That causes difficulty for blood flow.

If you are at a desk all day, take breaks to just walk around. You should also take time to wiggle your toes, or even just swing your legs to keep the blood flow going. You could also try to rest your legs on a chair or another elevated object.

Now if you are at a job where you have to stand and sitting is not an option, you should shift your weight from one leg to another, walk around and stand on your toes to keep the blood moving and avoid any long periods of staying in the same position.

If you do end up with the condition and have varicose vein pain, avoid scratching the itchy surface above the affected areas. If you scratch, this can cause ulcerations and bleeding. To reduce the discomfort, perhaps try a relaxing bath. After having the bath, you should apply castor oil over the varicose veins and massage into your legs and feet.
